André Kanor Berry, known by his stage name Dré K. B., is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and poet. André was born in Newport News, Virginia on October 21, 1991 and grew up in Gloucester, Virginia where he was raised by his mother and maternal grandparents. At the age of 5 he was writing and illustrating short stories for school which impressed his teachers. By age 7 he began writing poetry. The first poem he wrote was for his great-aunt’s retirement party. His love for music came about when his maternal grandmother allowed him to use her old record player and record collection.

At age 8 he started writing raps, inspired by his older cousin who would come down from Connecticut to visit their grandmother during the summer. This lead to him having friendly battles against his cousin. He went on to form a Rap group with childhood friends and performed in school talent shows, often being a crowd favorite.
